“The report from Erin was excellent. By far this was her best camp experience. she had NO complaints. It was obvious by her reaction that a lot of thought, planning, and effort goes into this program. We highly recommend it and will definitely return for a future trip.”
-Katherine & Brantley Buerger. parents, CD, 2006

“The challenge was the best part for me. Pushing myself as hard as I can and achieving my goals while doing it with best friends was awesome. I loved the campers and counselors–we had a great group and there was nothing unsuccessful about my summer!”
- Erin Buerger

“This trip to Colorado was one of the greatest things I’ve done. One of my Long-term goals was to set out without anyone I know. This summer I accomplished it! The trip made me comfortable because I knew that being with great kids and leaders made the trip that much better. I really enjoyed my summer with AAVE!”

“We have a very happy and confident daughter who returned from China–thank you. She had the time of her life and can’t stop bubbling over with stories of her experiences. Her leader was superb, the group well matched and the itinerary phenomenal. It is not easy to let your child go half way around the world without you, but AAVE did all it promised and more. Thank you for making dreams come true.”

“I loved visiting all the beautiful places and doing things that I would never do at home. I also loved the sense of family that grew between myself and the others on the trip.”
-Lucas DeNardo, BSP camper, 2006

“From the very beginning planning stages, I had confidence in the AAVE experience. It was well organized, thorough, and ultimately well run. As a parent, I never worried about the safety or well-being of my daughter. She returned from the experience happy, confident in her own abilities and read to face any challenge put before her.”

“Julia came home a more independent, self-confident young lady with a greater sense of adventure and much less fear about trying new things. She had only great things to say about her leader who was enormous fun and very responsible. The entire trip was a 100% success story. Thank you!!
-Bonnie and Martin Finkel, BW parents. 2006

“The counselors were exceptional and very interesting people. I learned and tried many new things in a different environment and pushed myself to try harder and excel at different activities.”

Talia Kwartler from Bold Europe 2 sent us this great evaluation of her AAVE experience.

Talia’s Parents Feedback on Bold Europe …
This was a wonderful trip in all respects. Talia had a fabulous time and learned a tremendous amount. It was a big confidence booster for her, and we are very happy.

Talia’s Feedback on Bold Europe …
I loved my trip this summer. I thought we saw alot of really interesting things and covered alot of stuff. The night hike was amazing (hard, but fulfilling) and I would definitely recommend that and do it again. River walking was also alot of fun. And the way that the trip organized the night hike, with letting us nap and then sleep in when we got back and chill out by the pool and go into town and have a down day, was really great and I wasn’t very tired the next day.

Sort, Spain was alot of fun also. I also really liked driving through Andorra to get to Spain. The camp site in Sort was great, we had alot of space and it was right by the river which was nice. Rafting was alot of fun and I really enjoyed it. Barcelona was also amazing. The beach in Barcelona was beautiful as well, and it was great because we went there two days in a row. The camp site we went to when we went back to France was really good also. We had a TON of space, our camp site was gigantic which was really good because the guys had lots of space to play frisbee and stick cup.

Cap D’Ail was really incredible. The hostel was absolutely gorgeous, the rooms were big, the food was good, the view was amazing, the bathrooms were clean, and the guy that ran it was really nice. I also really liked walking into Monaco, I thought it was really cool that you could just walk between countries so easily. The canyoning in France was absolutely incredible. Italy was really fun as well. Biking in Tuscany was a lot of fun, the vineyard was really cool too. Sienna was also amazing, and we got really good gelato and wandered around. And the last place we stayed - the castle in Labro - was so great. It was my birthday and I absolutely loved it. We had this amazing meal that the lady made us and the rooms were really clean and nice and it was just a really great place to end our trip. All in all the trip was incredible, and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Talia’s Feedback on her Trip Leaders …
Neall Epstein: Neall was an amazing counselor. He led the group well, doing it in a really mellow way. He also really took time to get to know every camper, whether it was joking with Henry and Johnny about Mitch Hedburg and Chappelle’s Show or when Neall and I would pretend to speak in hebrew to each other because we were the only Jewish people on the trip. Neall is also just a really funny guy, and in addition to being a really great counselor, he was just alot of fun to have around.

Sarah Bonte: Sarah was incredible. We had two vans and hers was always a ton of fun. We would sit with two people in shot gun and it always seemed like Sarah was just having really good conversations with anyone she would sit next to. Sarah epitomizes Hawaii chill in a really great way, she always knew what had to be done (she was really helpful when it came to cooking) and alot of times when we would get lost (which we did, but it turned out to be fun anyway) Sarah would take charge and figure out where we were going. Sarah is just an awesome person, and another really incredible counselor.

Jennifer Arnold: Jen was great, she was a counselor but at the same time like a camper as well. She was just a ton of fun to be around, and she was always nice to everyone. Jen and I had alot of fun together, whether it was her helping me during the night hike or when we were whitewater rafting and we were in the front and would save each other from falling out, Jen was just amazing. She was also really cool about uploading her pictures, and uploaded them to a shutterfly account we made so we could all have them. Even though it was her first year as a counselor, Jen really stepped up and did a great job as a leader.
