“I can undeniably say that the Colorado Discovery trip was one of the most amazing thing I’ve ever done in my entire life. I met some awesome people that taught me to be a more optimistic, better person. The experiences and challenges I was put through always left me with an amazing sense of accomplishment at the end and always left me wanting to push myself to the next step, such as rock climbing majestic mountains or rafting the Arkansas river. This trip is a wonderful choice for a campers first trip alone, and I highly recommend it. AAVE’s teen summer camp really helped me to mature and break out of my shell, and try new adventures. I’m a girl from Florida where the terrain is flat so the mountains and altitude were a change, but a good change. I made some great friends on the trip and I still keep in touch with them and hope to one day see them again. This is a great camp experience and a life changing trip!”

“Surfing was definitely my favorite thing on the
trip because never, in a million years, did I think I
would actually be able to stand up on the board and
ride a wave, and I did, several times!”

“I cannot say enough about this trip. I made so many good friends and had so many great experiences and adventures that it is hard to just pick one. The hike into Havasu Canyon was intense, and was definitely the hardest hike I have done in my life, but it was also the most rewarding experience. After the 6 hour hike beginning at 1:30 in the morning, we finally arrived at Havasu Falls. Seeing the water fall from up above for the first time was the best feeling I’ve ever had. The water was so blue and looked so cold after the long hot hike that none of us could wait to set up camps before we could go swimming.”

“The trip I had with AAVE is perhaps the most memorable experience of my life. I will never forget the life long friendships and adventures. The leaders were spectacular and the places we visited were outstanding. I was always being pushed but the juice was well worth the squeeze. I hope to go again next year!!”

“Melissa had an incredible experience and loved her trip. My kids have taken many different summer adventure trips over the last seven years, and I have to say, I was extremely impressed with your organization, fantastic trip itinerary and ability to pick wonderful trip leaders. There is no doubt Melissa would love to go on another one of your trips, and I would certainly encourage that!”

“I really loved the trip. The leaders were great the other kids were great, everything about it was great. It was definitely one of the most enjoyable things I have ever done. I really learned a lot about myself in those four weeks. I definitely recommend Wild Coast Discovery to anyone 13-14, if you want to have the time of your life! You will meet some incredible people who you will stay friends with for ever. I really can’t give you any reason not to go.”

Teen Camp & Jungle Adventures in Thailand

“There were two really important moments for me on the Thailand trip. First when I was on the rice barge, and we were all sitting out front, dragging our feet in the water and Jack Johnson was playing. I got this intense feeling that this was where I was supposed to be, and I was with who I was supposed to be with; I wanted nothing else. Simply, it was right, just so right. Secondly was coming back to the same hotel we started our trip from in Bangkok. Seeing this trip come full circle, it was so nice. I was thinking back to our first handshakes and how incredibly awkward the whole ordeal was, and then I was thinking about how I know each individual now, all of their layers. The process, the transition, amazes me.”

“Celina came back from Thailand completly different. She’s now much more responsible, she had so many nice things to tell us and she has made us a wonderful Thai dinner! She is truly proud of herself and it is wonderful that Thailand is now part of her world.”

Costa Rica Language Camp!

“Spending this summer with AAVE was one of the best decision I’ve made. CRSI wasn’t just a teen tour where you do fun activities all day, (even though we did do that) it was more. You also gained first hand experience with ticos (host families) and perfected your Spanish speaking skills. Being taught in such small, concentrated classes made Spanish so much fun. The learning part of this summer not only helped me with Spanish, but also gave me a new attitude towards languages, and school overall. CPI was great, but the morning adventures were AMAZING. Everyday was the highlight of the trip, our excursions were thrilling and so memorable. While in Costa Rica I also made such good friends. We bonded zip lining in the rainforest, and snorkeling on the beach. I couldn’t have asked for a better summer.”

“So, AAVE’s Thailand trip was THE best experience I’ve ever had. Learning how to deal with different people, different situations, different countries, and cultures was probably the most interesting thing about it. We did things I could never imagine before the trip. I ATE CRICKETS!!! (real ones!!) Till now I can’t believe I stayed a month so faraway from my home town (São Paulo, Brazil) but with AAVE it was pretty easy! I thought I would miss it a lot! I got to Thailand one day later, because my plane from Brazil had some troubles, and I think my BEST memory from the whole trip, was when I arrived in Asia, I was scared, and EVERY single person in my group was happy to see me, they all hugged me like we knew each other for ages. After that moment, I kinda realized that I was fine and that those people would be my family for the following 21 days! Now, two months later, I miss everybody A LOT!! Waking up every day alone in my bedroom is just so boring! If I could do it all again I’d do it a thousand times cause there are so many things to discover in Thailand that one year wouldn’t be enough!”

“My summer with AAVE was the most amazing summer because I experienced a country so first hand, and in a way that I could never do with my family. It was so fun getting to stay with other Thai families and begin to understand their traditions and way of life. It was great to learn many of the values of Thailand and experience the Buddhist culture. All of these things I experienced and learned while making new best friends and with an amazing leader. AAVE provided me with an unforgettable experience, and I can’t wait for next summer with AAVE!”
