Ultimate Alps #1 - Camper Thoughts

After the 6 hour plane ride to Geneva we piled into the vans and travelled across the border to the apparently passport-free country of France, the land of fresh baguettes. (Sam Peck)

When we reached the camp and I didn’t expect to be sleeping in tents. (Zach)

After out first night in tents we drove to a whitewater rafting area and paddled in freezing glacial water. It was an amazing experience! (Pravan)

We went on a 7 hour hike. It was hard but rewarding. Snowboarding in the French Alps was amazing! (Jorge Joya)

Being outdoors in Europe is a great experience. We are able to see each country (France, Switzerland and Austria) at their best with all of their natural beauty. (Aunie)

Summer skiing is rad. One or two layers of clothing and you can zoom down the mountain feeling freer than you’ve ever felt skiing due to the lack of clothing. (Noah Markowitz)

We do different activities in the afternoon after skiing. One such activity is mountain biking. It was hard because I had never done it but I felt a great sense of accomplishment afterwards. We also went down an alpine slidecourse and explored a town which was fun! (Lizzy).

In the action-packed town of Les Deux Alpes, where every day brings new extreme activities, we are eating another delicious French-store-bought, AAVE-made dinner. Despite how momentous these activities seem, each one will hone your abilities at various tasks including skiing, mountain biking, swimming and luging. In conclusion, it is fun! (Stan)

Today we went shopping in Les 2 Alpes. We were able to try the local food and buy some souvenirs. We had the ability to ski in the mountains then head down to shop. It was quite exciting and everyone had a good time. (Ethan Kramer)

We have had some pretty incredible meals on this trip including steaming, generous portions of the ‘mighty tighty whities’ chili and the 4th of July feast of hamburgers and homemade French fries by the ‘PMK gourmet’ cook team. Food has certainly been a highlight of the trip so far and was only enhanced by an overwhelming trip to a local French candy store where we wisely invested our Euros in pounds of delicious gummies. (Melissa Benjamin)

For the past few days we have done some awesome stuff. We started the trip getting to know everyone with a chill day. We then headed off to France and enjoyed a day of glacier cold white water rafting. Then an exhausting day-hike to see a glacier lake with mountains about. The last 3 days skiing ad snowboarding was a blast. It was cold at the top and warm at the bottom meaning we could mix winter with summer. Today we are taking a 7 hour drive to Verona! Yes…finally some sleep. (Katherine)

All the trip has been an experience. We’ve done stuff we could never had done at home so it’s fun to do different things. In 5 days we have done a lot of activities and I am looking forward to the next 15 days! (Christina)

We went to a ski town and I had a lot of fun. I liked snowboarding on the mountain, especially at the park. I fell a couple times while luging and mountain biking but despite my epic falls my experiences were rewarding. (Austin Yu)

What a trip! We’re having a blast!
