Bold Europe #1 Update!

Greetings to Abbott and everyone back home!

Ironically enough, our last days in the French Alps had us camping out in Tipis in the middle of the mountains of beautiful and cool Mercantour National Park. After an early 6 am breakfast we set out to summit Paracouert (which means lightning). The hike was difficult, but reaching the top was so worth it! We could see the peak of the Matterhorn, the island of Corsica and the French alps. It was truly breathtaking.

We next day we enjoyed a beautiful drive along the French and Italian coast as we made our way to Florence, Italy. Today we spent the morning visiting the third largest cathedral in the world, Il Duomo. The afternoon was used to enjoy delicious pizza and gelato. Tomorrow, we are going to Pisa where we will try our luck at straightening the leaning tower. Wish us luck!

Bold Europe is AAVE’s longest trip but we are finishing up our adventure, culture and group experience with high spirits and accomplishment. Just five more days - including staying in a castle in Labro Italy.
