Ready for the Reef - Australia 3

Alooooooooha, hello from down under…
We are officially certified divers folks! What a journey out to sea we
had. I am currently at the computers back in Cairns as all of your
kids are frantically checking their facebooks as we speak! I’ll admit,
I’ll probably be checking mine too after this!
The boat trip was super fun. The kids had a chance to do five dives a
day! Most skipped the 6 30AM dive … again as did I, but there was
definitely plenty of opportunities to get in the water. All of the
spots were different and beautiful in their own amazing ways, just as
I’m learning are the differences among your children. But wow is all I
can really say about the Great Barrier Reef. The colors were out of
this world. That is the only way to describe what can be seen under
there, it truly is out of this world. I kept thinking to myself, these
fish must look at us and laugh at all the equipment we need just to
experience what they live like! We even did a night dive. Yep, swam
with white tipped sharks with super experienced divers! Today I got
within 10 feet of one! Even got to dance with a sea turtle as it was
swimming right over me. Magical.
The food was amazing. Our cook crews were taking notes on what to
prepare for meals to come. We were spoiled. Life is good here in Australia.
I’ll admit though I’m glad to be back on land. The computer is hard to
focus on right now. I along with several others still feel as if we
are on the boat.
I’m signing off for now, but we head to the Tully River for a day of
white water rafting tomorrow.
We will write soon.
The kids send their love your way.
Cheers!
Sarah, Mike, and crew
