The Best China Adventure!

Ni hao once again families!
So we are working our way north through this vast country. We are
getting very accustom to life on the road. The girls know now to never
leave restaurants without grabbing napkins to use for toilet paper. We
are also getting very good at squatting while peeing! I actually think
I prefer it, while I am probably alone on this one. We have all also
become near professional in the art of chop sticking, although a few
are anxiously awaiting the moment the can use silverware again!
I believe our last blog left on in Leijing. From there it seems our
theme was “GIANT!” We first saw the largest Buddha in the world. It
was 20 stories high chiseled into the side of a mountain and was built
1200 years ago. We are all getting used to the “pushiness” of the
Chinese culture as we heard like cattle through masses of tourists,
but in the end we all decide it’s worth it. The next on our giant list
was the giant pandas … one word awwwww! It was so cute watching the
little ones play. After the pandas we landed in the West of the four
Buddhist mountains Mt. Emei. Here we were fortunate enough to see the
giant Buddha made of bronze. Our Chinese guide Stony said he’s only
seen it once, so we all decided it was a good omen when the sun was
gleaming on this strikingly beautiful bronze Buddha. The last of my
giants, I would probably classify as a giant terror! The monkeys. The
kids liked it, I on the other hand was terrified. These wild monkeys
stole one of our girls corn, another had her water bottle stolen from
her bag, another made a boy drop his camera, and another monkey
decided to jump on my head and pull my hair!!! They are cute, amazing
beggars preying on tourists in these beautiful mountains- oh well.
Gonna have to say good bye on that note, but to end it more pleasantly
I treated the group to a well deserved soak in some amazing hot spring
pools after a full day of hiking. We are now awaiting our second of
three overnight trains. Cross your fingers for us!
Hugs and Kisses from all of us here in China.
