Colo Disco #3..A FUN and Adventurous START!!

The first three days have been great. We are now on our fourth day in Crested Butte, CO. The first full day we went on a hike to an alpine lake outside of Leadville, CO. When we got there we took pictures, ate our lunch, and some brave souls went swimming! It was cold but really refreshing. The next day we went on a much steeper hike and the mountain view was beautiful! We looked down into a valley and could see the snow topped mountains around us. During the first couple days Taylor and Tristan battled some altitude sickness, but with time, rest, and water are doing great now. Florida is far from 11,000 feet!

Since coming to Crested Butte we have met up with some cloudy weather and the pouring rain last night left some things a little soggy, but spirits are high and the sun is powerful today! Today is our town day, so the kids are thrilled to get cheeseburgers and milkshakes and wear there jeans in town. Tomorrow we are going mountain biking in Crested Butte and might even go swimming in a beautiful lake close by. The kids are bonding with each other fast and we are looking forward to more exciting adventures!

After Crested Butte we head to Aspen for a service project to help preserve native trout in the area. We will write again when we come in contact with internet again!
