Good times with Good friends!

Good times with Good friends!

Howdy all,

This trip is amazing. The campers are fantastic. Climbing at Shelf Road was incredible. Everyone worked so well and learned a ton. Sabina, Thibault, Ethan, and Dylan are rock climbing ROCKSTARS!! They made it to the top of the most difficult routes. The service project was tiring & tough, but beautiful and rewarding. And now we are on the river. It is fantastically hot here in Colorado - perfect for being in and out of the water as much as we have been. The campers report being excited, dirty, loving it, and enjoying camping out in the woods.

This group ROCKS! We love the AAVE lifestyle.

Latest update - Getting dirty with RNR1!!

Hey Everyone - this is Megan, one of the three leaders on RockNRoll.
Just wanted to let you know that we just finished our climbing section of the trip. We had a blast! We were climbing Shelf Road for 3 days and some of the rockstars in the group were Sabina, Dylan, Ethan and Thibault who made it to the top of one of the more difficult routes!
At the moment we are headed into Canyon City, Colorado to get some pizza and get ready for our big ascent of climbing Mt. Elbert. The campers are so excited! They are enjoying the concept of getting dirty and can’t wait for more of it!! Ha!!

We’ll touch base again soon - wish us luck for our challenging hike! We’ll definitely have pictures to cherish!

Hello beautiful blue sky and sunny Colorado!
What a great trip so far. We all arrived safely and have enjoyed getting to know one another over campfire talks and eating well cooked camp meals - some campers have already become gourmet camping chefs!
This is going to be quick because we are taking a break from rock climbing near Buena Vista, Colorado - the name says it all - it really is a beautiful view!!!! The peaks are all around us, in fact they are named for all the ivy league schools in the US (They are called the Collegiate Peaks) - it’s so cool to be here!
So far, we’ve learned a lot about the logistics of rock climbing and are mastering the skill ourselves. Th most challenging climb is coming up. Hopefully we’ll have some pictures to share pretty soon! Talk to you next when we’re on our way or done with our service project!!
Check back with us!

Teen Summer Kayak Camp

To be honest, the whole trip was great, I don’t think I would qualify any part of it as unsuccesful. What the trip did succeed especially in was in creating a love for the outdoors that I previously did not have, I now can’t wait to head out once more.-Thomas Manghi, camper, RNR

Sarah had an excellent time. The trip was also very good for helping her develop her sense of independence. The organisation and information provided were good. The activites were also well chosen. Ian, her leader did a good job of communicating with us!-Margaret Krischer, Parent, RNR

The activities were great, the leaders were enthusiastic and friendly, and the kids were all really awesome and made the trip unforgettable.-Andrea Druga, camper, RNR

I was impressed right from the beginning with the staff and the initial contacts that I made with your office. Everyone was professional but cool!!! You all made it easy for me to send my child away without worry. Thank you so much!

My child said that this was an incredible trip. Just so you know, his favorite part about the trip was his counselor Ian so I recommend you keep him.-Mary Sowers, Parent, RNR

Colorado was a completely new experience for me. My goal for the trip was to do something different and that goal was a definite success on my trip.-Matt Sowers, camper, RNR

Isaac had a wonderful time and made friends he will keep, indeed some of which he has already seen again. About kayaking class 3 rapids, which he thoroughly enjoyed, he said, in response to being asked if he had been scared, “sure you’re scared, but you do it anyway.” A wonderful lesson for life!-Liane Strauss, parent, RNR

Rock and Roll was an absolute blast. The activities chosen really required us to venture outside our comfort zones and challenge ourselves. Rock Climbing was a great activity to do first because it encouraged us to trust our other group members. It was truly amazing to me how quickly friendships formed, and how easy it was to feel at home in a Colorado camp ground. These two weeks will not be forgotten.-Samantha Primiano, camper, RNR

A successful AAVE summer!

We took a chance and won big time! We selected your camp because you responded so quickly and sounded genuinely interested in the children. How right that was. Samantha is hooked and wants to do a long trip next summer and the next summer and then hopes to be a guide. Now that is successful.  Thank you so very much.

I took risks, learned to kayak whitewater, overcame my fears, met new people, experienced new things and had a great time! Kayaking tested my physical and mental strength and I think I grew a lot during this trip.
