AAVE was a complete success for me. I learned a lot from the activities, the new friends, and the trip leaders. I finished this trip with more confidence and a new perspective of things in general. -Amy Lam

Adam loved the trip. His trip leaders were great as was the group of kids he traveled with. This was his first time with AAVE and I he would be happy to do this again in the future. We have always loved the way AAVE organizes their trips. You also always hire great people to lead them too! -Janet & David Lonner

I made some amazing friends who I know I will keep in touch with for a long time. I also learned how to challenge myself and how to really push myself mentally and physically. -Sarah Gerlin

My summer with AAVE was very successful because the group leaders were incredible, the people were very diverse which added so much to the experience, and the activities that we were able to do were phenomenal and life changing. I wouldn’t categorize anything as unsuccessful because the challenges were just good opportunities for personal growth. -Monica Saeger

Hello to Abbott and our CCIA families!

Our trip is super fun. The students are awesome and the activities are top notch. I’m not sure anyone is going to want to go home at the end of the trip - after living the AAVE life, YES, we are having that much fun.
The backpack was amazing. The kids pushed themselves and had so much success on this trip. Sarah shared that the highlight of her trip at this point is getting to the top of a huge mountain on the backpack and then playing in the snow on the top - all on the 4th of July!
The rock climbing was also fantastic. Everyone worked so hard and pushed themselves to the limit - it was so fun to watch.
The group agrees that the white-water rafting trip was fantastic. The weather in Colorado has been super hot this summer, so we particularly enjoyed being able to cool off in the river whenever we wanted. The rapids were perfect and provided the perfect amount of challenge and fun. Daniel reported this was his highlight and simply said that it was “Awesome!”
The campers are all adjusting to camp life well. We have had some tasty meals as we try to find out who is the best cook. At this point Daniel thinks his BBQ is the best, while another camper said that Monica’s meal was the best….We still have lots of time and eating together to determine this!!
We are headed to our next backpack and looking forward to getting back to the wilderness.
Everyone sends smiles and hugs and wishes you as much fun as we are having!!
We are only half way, so let the good times and new experiences come!!!
Take Care everyone,
Love, AAVE CC1A Family, loving the AAVE life!

Hi from senior leader, Erin -
We just got off the river from rafting - brrrrrrrrrrrrr that water was cold (from the mountain runoff) but the campers had an absolute blast! Unless your camper was sitting in the back, where everyone remained dry - the front got soaked - woo hoo!! Great photos, I’m sure!
We’re back on dry land and everyone is getting pumped for our back country trip and getting dirty! We’ll check back in when we return - full of stories, I’m sure!

Hi from sunny Colorado!!!
What a great state! The sky is always blue here, who would have guessed?
After meeting everyone at the airport - which was so cool to see where everyone is from! - we headed out to a campsite. We had a great camp style breakfast and now we’re heading out to go whitewater rafting!!! This is so exciting and because the sun is so strong, the water feels great and we’re psyched to hit some rapids!!
Hopefully we’ll get some great pictures and share them with you when we get back - if not, please know that the stories will be worth a thousand pictures!! Can’t wait to share with you!
Check back soon.

Colorado Classic #2A - Rockin’ Out!
Posted by Jenny at AAVE in : General AAVE Trip BLOG, Ultimate Colorado , 1 comment so far

Hey Colorado Classic #2A families!
We just finished a two-day rafting trip - cold water and super cool guides! We are preparing for our 4-day backpacking adventure in the beautiful Never Summer Wilderness outside of Rocky Mountain National Park.
Sarah: “I’m having a lot of fun! The rafting trip was amazing, only a couple spills! The food is fantastic - macaroni and cheese (kind of mushy, but cheesy), pasta, cheeseburgers, baked potatoes and apple crisp! The rest of the group is really cool, and I’m having a blast!
Emily: “The trip is really, really good! We hiked up Mt. Hope, very difficult but worth the view. We trail-blazed our way down which turned out to be steep and challenging, but fun!”
Dylan: “The van rides are fun - but Josh keeps turning down the volume on the good songs! The rafting was awesome, rock climbing was intense, and we’re looking forward to our backpack tomorrow.”
Anthony: “This trip is super sweet! The rafting was fun, but the water was cold! The hiking is tough, but beautiful! It’s been raining on us now and then, but we’re still having fun!”
Travis: “The trip is awesome, we just took showers and did laundry! We played some pool at our last campsite, and I’m looking forward to our next rock climbing - my favorite activity!”
Angelica: “This trip is awesome, rafting was my favorite part - I fell out of the raft, which was scary, but I’m o.k.! I just wanted to fall out over and over (but the guides wouldn’t let me)!”
Stay tuned for more Rock and Rapid action ….
Josh, Erin and the RR2A crew
