What is The AAVE Flight Service?
Our goal is to make travel days easy, even for the teen who has never traveled without their family.
We recommend all participants use the AAVE travel service. Booking through our travel office is beneficial for successful arrivals and departures and to ensure smooth and coordinated globe trotting. Booking through our flight service means that you will be flying with other AAVE travelers and ensures that AAVE is informed of all schedule changes and problems.
AAVE works in partnership with Dimensions In Travel of Novato, CA to provide you with the very best when you book your flights through the AAVE Flight Service. How does The AAVE Flight Service work?
The following steps make travel day an easy day:
STEP ONE: If you have not already done so, call Roxanne at 800.828.2962 today to book your flights for this summer. Planning ahead gives us time to find the best deals!
STEP TWO: Work in partnership with our travel agent, Roxanne, to find flights with other campers and the best deals.
STEP THREE: Fourteen days before your trip you will receive a travel packet with everyone in your group's flight information, travel instructions and baggage tags. If before departure you discover you are traveling alone we suggest you pay the airline to be escorted as an unaccompanied minor.
STEP FOUR: On day one of your trip, your AAVE trip leaders will meet you at your destination and immediately phone your family to confirm your safe arrival.
How much will it cost?
Participants often ask us to estimate the cost of flights for different trips. Ticketing costs vary greatly depending on time of travel, departure city and availability. However, below are the average roundtrip airfares paid by our 2007 participants:

- Australia: $2,200 - $3,000
- Africa: $1,790 - $2,400
- Bold Europe: $950 - $1,100
- Bike Amsterdam Paris: $1,100 - 1,200
- China: $1,100 - $1,300
- Costa Rica: $600 - $700
- Ecuador & Galapagos: $750 - $850
- Espana Clasica: $1,100 - $1,300
- France Classique: $1,000 - $1,100

What if I have air miles or want to arrange my own flights?
You are welcome to use air miles or book your own flights if you can do so in accordance to our specific directions. If you want to book on your own, call our office and we can recommend specific flights for your trip. We are very strict about arrival/departure times.
What if I am joining AAVE from outside the US?
International participants joining AAVE will receive specific directions for booking correct flights to and from the trip. We are very strict about arrival/departure times.
