Expand your knowledge of the French language while experiencing the French Alps, warm Mediterranean waters, and adventure sports such as rock climbing, kayaking, and backpacking!
After arriving in Nice, we drive to Antibes to meet our host families and settle into our language school. We live with our gracious hosts for one week while participating in three-hour morning lessons instructed by native French speakers. Instructors are certified in teaching French to foreigners using a curriculum that includes French tradition, culture and cuisine. Afternoon activities such as canyon hiking, rock climbing, kayaking and a visit to the historic city of Aix en Provence are planned.
Our rugged week in the Parc National du Mercantour in the French Alps is awe-inspiring. A four-day backpack with a professional French guide allows us to experience the park's glacier lakes, mountaintop vistas and rare wildlife. We also enjoy rock climbing and tubing, prehistoric Petroglyph sites and participation in a community service project.
We leave the mountains and head straight for Nice and the French Riviera for two days of rest and swimming in the Mediterranean Sea. We stay at the International Youth Center situated on the beach of Cap d'Ail, a 45-minute shoreline walk to the Principality of Monaco. We bask in the sun, play in the sea and celebrate our achievements before saying goodbye to this magnificent region.
